Date Nights on a Budget
Written by Asmi Chinauriya Somehow, someway, we have started associating dates with a price tag. The bill on the first date is the main topic of many conversations, especially on social media. However, this does not mean that date nights always have to be in a high-end restaurant with a bill to pay. You should not have to wait for a bonus or your paycheck to spend a romantic night with someone that you love. Date nights can simply involve doing things together that you both enjoy. Learning new hobbies together, spending time on said hobbies together, and many more. Here are more examples: Cooking: it can be themed on…

How to: Become a True Academic Weapon
Written by Francesca Tero Hey AAPC fam! It’s that beloved time of year again! The holidays! Hmm… well, not quite yet. It’s actually finals season, but your brain likely can’t tell the difference with the amount of emotions you might be feeling. So close yet so far. Many of us are college students balancing our challenging course loads, executive board positions, and RSO involvements, as well as jobs or internships. We may have some courses where the final is optional, or we only need an easily attainable score to pass. However, we may also have some courses where we are becoming an Excel mastermind to create a foolproof grade calculator…

The Influence of Leadership and Becoming the Leader In Your Life
Written by Sophia Kim Group projects, public speaking, and all other types of interactions with people always have an invisible dynamic that guides the conversation between individuals. Leadership can be quickly defined as a quality that a person has to direct a group of people or an organization. Within this definition, there are so many nuances and ways of expressing other types of leadership. Different interpersonal levels make this quality so important to be aware of and see how it makes an impact throughout…

My Favorite Cheat Meals
Written by Will Chen With Thanksgiving around the corner, all I can think about is the incredible food I’ll get to enjoy. As a young adult, I try to maintain a healthy diet most of the time, but I give myself one cheat meal each week. I usually save these for after finishing a tough project or exam, since treating myself to food I love helps ease stress and reset mentally. Here are some of the cheat meals I look forward to most. AYCE Sushi Sushi is one of my all-time favorite foods, and there’s no better place to enjoy it than Sakura, an all-you-can-eat restaurant a few miles from…

Letter to my Future Self
Written by Zoe Pecson Dear future self,I hope this letter finds you well, you who’s many years older and (hopefully) wiser.I don’t really recognize you; it seems we have changed a lotbetween the time of me and the time of you.But you know things that I don’t,and I can’t help but ask you some questions, so here goes: Do we reach that goal, that dream we’ve had?Do we get there soon, or was it not as easy as that?Did the path to that dream twist, turn, and climb,or was it left in the past, covered in vines?Tell me, my future self, did we get out of this hole, the one I’ve dug…

My Top 5 Newark Spots
Submitted by Francesca Tero If you were to ask my freshman self, 3 years ago today, what she could do in Newark, she would say “nothing.” In fact, I was actually debating transferring schools because I found myself so underwhelmed living in Delaware. However, I’m a few years older now, and I can confidently say that I’ve learned to appreciate this tax-free land for all it has to offer. I am not from Delaware, so you might want to take my words with a grain of salt, but these are some things I’ve grown to love about living here, and things that I will miss once I graduate in May.…

Advice To My Younger Self
Submitted by Steven Pham There are so many things I could talk about, but if I could give my younger self one piece of advice, it would be this: start earlier, whether that’s calisthenics or anything else you’re passionate about. Looking back, I remember hesitating because I was worried I would be seen as unready, not disciplined enough to commit, or a failure in front of others. Though the truth is, if I had started earlier, I could have made more progress, and I would have developed the discipline, confidence, and resilience that come from putting yourself out there sooner. Challenges, whether learning a new skill, pursuing a passion, or…

Goals for the School Year
Submitted by Will Chen The start of a new school year is always refreshing. In many ways, it represents a chance for new beginnings. Personally, I look forward to the fall because it means reuniting with friends on campus. These past 3 years have been amazing at the University of Delaware, and I hope to make this last year the best one yet. Living a life with regrets is one of my biggest fears, so I plan to make the most of the time I have left. With that in mind, here are the goals I wish to accomplish before I graduate. Goal 1: Secure a Full-Time Job As a…

How I Get Out of Seasonal Depression
Submitted by Ruthie Suarez Seasonal depression has been a challenge for me, especially during transitions between warm and cold weather or from cold to warm weather. As summer fades into fall and winter shifts into spring, I often find myself feeling down, unmotivated, and emotionally drained. These changes in temperature and daylight impact my mood, making it harder to stay productive and engaged with daily life. However, over time, I’ve found ways to navigate these feelings and lift myself out of seasonal depression. One of the biggest things that helps me is going out on some days more and surrounding myself with people who make me feel happy and supported.…
