The Traits of a Perfect Couple: What We Admire Most

    February 25, 2025 /

Submitted by Steven Pham When we think of the perfect couple, images of love-filled moments, mutual respect, and unwavering support often come to mind. Whether it’s inspired by a romantic comedy or an Instagram post, society tends to paint an idealized picture of relationships. But what truly makes a couple “perfect”? Fatphobia in Asian Cultures: Unveiling the Layers of Body Image Stigma

    December 2, 2023 /

Fatphobia—the irrational fear or aversion towards individuals with larger bodies—is a pervasive issue that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries. There are complexities of fatphobia in Asian societies that run in its cultural roots and manifestations, and end up causing many potential consequences.

Food Culture in Asia vs the US

    March 31, 2023 /

People need to eat to survive, that’s just a basic fact of life. Unless you have some medical condition where you can’t eat, but that’s besides the point. Mexico is known for their bright food made from simple ingredients cooked masterfully. When you think of the US, you think of comfort food that you can always fall back on.

    Unlearning Colorism

    February 27, 2023 /

I think every Filipino girl has their fair share of horror stories about Titas who were much too grown and much too busy to have the time to be commenting on the appearance of girls who aren’t even theirs. To no fault but their own toxic upbringing, they judged anything and everything that caught their attention. Weight gain, weight loss, academics—the list goes on and on. However, there was one thing in particular that they would point out about without fail. Even more outside of my control than my fluctuating weight and static height—it was my skin color. Brown and so unlike the porcelain white skin that they believed to…

As the weather starts to get warmer, people are starting to partake in more outdoor activities. One activity I highly recommend is a game of catch with a football-- or, for those who love to run, have someone throw the ball to you during your light jog!

    An Unforeseen Lineage

    March 29, 2021 /

As amazing as it is to have so many prominent Asian female idols in history and the media, sometimes the ones who empower us the most are those from our everyday lives. Before coming to the University of Delaware, so many students like me grew up in predominantly white communities, and we did not really have mentors that we related to culturally.
