2026 Senior Spotlight: Jodie Li
Hi! If you’re stalking me, you might already know this, but if not, my name is Jodie Li. I’m in my last semester of senior year, double-majoring in Management Information Systems and Finance. I’ve been a commuter all my years at UD, but stayed involved with APIDA and joined AAPC as an intern my sophomore year.
When I first came to UD, I wanted to meet more people and get involved with RSOs that would let me embrace my culture. As someone who loves meeting new people (even though I can be very awkward at first), I found long-lasting friendships and made amazing memories through APIDA. I won’t say I ever peaked in college—that phrase never really resonated with me—but I’ve definitely had some of the joy-filled memories of my life here.
Of course, college also brought learning experiences that challenged me professionally, academically, and personally, but I’ve learned not to dwell on the past. What matters is that you will push through the dark moments. As they say, if there are downs, there’s always an up. Here is my advice: don’t get stuck on the “what ifs.” Instead, reflect on what happened, learn from it, and move forward. Life is too short to keep mourning what you can’t change (it’s like an empty thought). Letting go has helped me make more room in my consciousness for the happy memories.
Through four years at UD, you will learn and grow; that’s a promise. For me, I learned to be more myself. That was hard when I started as a people-pleaser. Now, I know who truly values me, and I keep those people close. I’ve learned to let go of things such as grades that didn’t go the way I wanted. Most importantly, I’ve learned to value myself and do things for myself. Taking on the role of AAPC Co-President was one of those decisions; it gave me an outlet outside of academics and allowed me to build a community around values I truly believe in.
As my college era comes to a close, it’s bittersweet. I’ve also started finding joy outside of UD to help with the transition. I locked in during my first few years, and now, in my final stretch, I’ve allowed myself to relax before starting my full-time job, something I’m both nervous and excited for. To prepare, I’ve been adventuring out of state, meeting new people, and embracing experiences beyond my life as a student.
I will always cherish my years at UD and the amazing people I’ve met here. To those closest to me: I will always try to keep you close. Know your people when the time comes.
I’m excited to start my career and keep climbing professionally. But your 2026 Co-President loves the extroverted side of her ambivert personality, so I hope my future is packed with fun outings, new experiences, and good people. On that note, I’ll always be part of UD. Please reach out to me for anything. I may be closing this chapter, but its pages are bound into my book.
