Why I’m Seeking Justice For Chinese Americans
My parents left their homes in China to pursue American freedoms, opportunities, and an education at the University of Delaware. Here is the American Dream in action. Yet, a nightmare is unfolding for many Chinese Americans today, one that threatens the very same ideals that led my parents across the Pacific Ocean.

Depictions of Karma in Anime
When it comes to a topic like karma, it is interesting to see how it gets depicted in the media and how we as an audience observe it. For me, there were a few animes that came to mind and a couple characters that dealt with the consequences of their actions, or in this case, dealt with the bad karma that came their way.

Why Karma From League of Legends Has A Perfect Name
Karma, from Hinduism and Buddhism, refers to the cycle of cause and effect or more commonly, “you reap what you sow”. In the popular game League of Legends, Karma is portrayed as a powerful mage champion who uses both magic and spiritual energy to attack and defend her allies and enemies. Her abilities are closely tied to the concept of karma, as her actions can either heal or harm others, depending on the situation. The developers at Riot Games likely chose the name Karma for this champion to reflect her abilities and thematic elements, as well as to draw on the cultural significance of the concept of karma.

Superstitions My Asian Parents Told Me
Growing up in both South Korea and the United States, I have heard a fair share of superstitions from both countries, some even overlapping due to similarities. Unlearning Colorism
I think every Filipino girl has their fair share of horror stories about Titas who were much too grown and much too busy to have the time to be commenting on the appearance of girls who aren’t even theirs. To no fault but their own toxic upbringing, they judged anything and everything that caught their attention. Weight gain, weight loss, academics—the list goes on and on. However, there was one thing in particular that they would point out about without fail. Even more outside of my control than my fluctuating weight and static height—it was my skin color. Brown and so unlike the porcelain white skin that they believed to…
