Holiday Season Activities
Submitted by Anh Ho
During the holiday season, it is important to create fond memories with loved ones. These memories can last you a lifetime. Some of the best memories I have made were throughout the very relaxing breaks. Here are some holiday season activities that you can do to spice up your break. Remember that you can do these activities for years without getting bored. You can add a new tradition to the season.
Going shopping with your friends is a great way to explore the different holiday items. William Sonoma always has gourmet hot chocolate with unique and classic flavors: original, salted caramel, double dark chocolate, peppermint, vanilla with marshmallow, hazelnut, and pumpkin spice. I recommend buying both double dark chocolate and salted caramel and mix the two together to get the richest flavor of hot chocolate. If you want to skip the shopping and look online, here is a link to help you find their hot chocolate flavors: https://www.williams-sonoma.com/search/results.html?words=hot%20chocolate
Seeing Longwood Gardens holiday lights and decorations are a fun way to get into the holiday spirit. Seeing the light shows with family or friends can really ignite the magical experiences to come. Not to mention, taking beautiful pictures with these lights will leave your photo album with fond memories.
Watching the Annual Disney on Ice show performed at the Wells Fargo Center is a wonderful way to dip back into your childhood. Seeing professional ice skaters do what they love will amaze your eyes as well as your younger siblings, friends, or parents. Eating cotton candy, popcorn, or shaved ice during the performance will also enhance the experience.
Gingerbread house making competitions are a great way to explore the art of baking and icing. There are plenty of options to choose from within different stores like Walmart, Target, Michael’s and more. Decorating these desserts can also lead to fond memories that you can snap a picture of and leave in the photo album.
Lastly, going skiing, snowboarding, or sledding during the winter with anyone will make your holiday season one to remember. You can go on one-day trips or rent a cabin/ Airbnb with people in the Poconos. Try new tricks, or stick with the stuff you know, but definitely bring a warm coat. This activity will leave you with new memories and a few new tricks up your sleeve every time.
