As the world’s largest continent, Asia is a place full of diversity and fantastic places to explore. Although I have not yet visited Asia, I plan to in the near future and hope to come across new environments to immerse myself in. Here are some famous landmarks that you should be sure to visit.
The Great Wall of China:
As one of the seven wonders of the world, I am sure that this does not come as a surprise to you. With over 10 million visitors each year, this landmark is a wonder that each and every person should visit at least once in their lifetime. Over 21,000 km long and has taken over 2000 years to build, the Great Wall of China is a must-visit location on my trip to Asia.
Taj Mahal:
Located in Northern India, the Taj Mahal is a majestic landmark built with red sandstone and marble. This mausoleum is made up of a mosque, a guesthouse, and houses the tomb of Shah Jahan’s wife. With the name Taj Mahal meaning the “Crown of Palaces”, the landmark is truly a sight to behold. With such intricate architecture, I hope to see it in person one day.
Wat Arun:
Wat Arun is a Buddhist temple located in Bangkok, Thailand. Named after Aruna, the Hindu God of Dawn, the landmark is one of Thailand’s treasures as it shines with colorful porcelain each day. It was fully uncovered in 2018 after the landmark underwent massive restorations for 4 years. With 80 meters in height and more than 300 years in history, Wat Arun has steep stairs that provide a beautiful view of Bangkok. Without a doubt, Wat Arun is a place one must visit in Thailand.
