Chainsaw man
Summary: Denji, an impoverished young man who makes a contract that fuses his body with that of a dog-like devil named Pochita, granting him the ability to transform parts of his body into chainsaws.
Opinion: This show features great animation, fight scenes, voice acting, and sticks true to the manga—aside from cutting out some parts. Coming in to fall 2022 with so much hype, I believe the show has lived up to the hype and am excited for what’s next.
Rating: 9/10
Blue Lock
Summary: After a crushing defeat in the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s soccer team needs to regroup. In hopes of regaining that competitive edge, the Japan Football (soccer to us Americans) Union gathers 300 of its best players in a no-holds-barred training (more like prison) to select the best of the best.
Opinion: The timing for this anime to air episodes during the Qatar 2022 world cup has given this show a huge fan base. Although the storytelling doesn’t have a concrete plot and realism, this show is fun and has tons of action and momentum.
Rating: 8/10
Reincarnated as a Sword
Summary: When a 30-year-old salaryman and games enthusiast is suddenly killed in a car accident, he finds himself reborn into a fantasy world, but in the form of a sword. Now he’s in search of a beautiful woman to wield him, and a catgirl named Fran might be the exact adventuring partner he needs.
Opinion: A low drama, slice of life, with some action and no romance. What makes this show interesting is the world lore and the drama about Fran’s race punishment and her seeking the path to evolve and restore the cat race. It’s also fun to see the continuous momentum the sword and Fran gains after each ordeal.
