Art Comfort December 27, 2022 / Submitted by Julia Lanzona Comfort wraps its scarf around me in infinite circles of woolGifted by Autumn and treasured by winterFolded neatly by the hands of spring and tucked away by summerComfort finds its way back to me Comfort lifts the bed sheets and crawls in to share its pillowy warmth While singing into my ear to a harmonious hum that cradles the spirit and soulIt laughs contagiously with infectious humorAnd weeps alongside me before dabbing my eyes saltless Comfort is the gentle ebb and flow after overwhelming waves of high tideAnd it’s the torch that wards away will-o’-the-wisps and ghosted memories It reconciles humble apologies and words of forgiveness But imprisons whispers of malice and dread Comfort rides on the arms of the embrace from anotherBefore mischievously prancing on the peck between two lipsIt’s the moon high above, drawing dreams for the dreamers belowAnd it’s the beckoning rays of the sun that nightmares fear Follow AAPC’s Instagram!
