APSA’s Amazing 2023 Asian Thanksgiving Cooking Event
Throughout the year, so many clubs have dozens of events each. Not many can stand out among the hundreds held during a single semester, but APSA definitely took on the challenge and scored an ace.

JCLC, a one-of-a-kind Club
This new school year has been an exciting yet busy start, with no exception to the many first general body meetings we had this month. Many APIDA organizations here at the University of Delaware such as APSA, VSA, FSA, JCLC, SASE, and AAPC held meetings with creative themes and various activities, each with their own unique styles for all kinds of students to enjoy. That is one of the many reasons why I always loved attending and engaging with meetings held by these clubs; they strive to be inclusive and connect all members together, while rooting for their club on Asian culture. Among the many clubs, one that stands out…

APSA’s Night Market
This year marks APSA’s second annual Night Market since COVID-19, and it surely did not disappoint! Occuring last Saturday at the Trabant MPRs, the event lasted from 9pm-1am and was filled with dance performances, cultural activities, and so much more. Meant as a night to celebrate and appreciate APIDA culture, performances ranged from traditional to modern. Food was also free and provided by UD catering. The menu also included cultural foods such as: chicken satay to represent Indonesia, pad thai to represent Thailand, and jalebi, a dessert that originates from India. What I love most about this event, however, is the fact that it gathers a number of APIDA organizations…

A Piece of Self-Discovery in Spain
Understanding your true self takes time; for me, it took years. It was the vagueness of it all that sparked my anxiety: having no direction in life and feeling lost within the constraints of my own mind. You would think that even with large academic and long-term goals, I would feel more satisfied in fulfilling them with “ease,” but I continued to struggle with the idea of commitment and the thought that my dreams would somehow turn into reality.

My Experience On APSA’s New York Trip
On December 3, 2022 APSA held their annual New York City trip. This was my first time going on the trip though, so I was a little nervous. Before this trip, I had never been on a school trip in college. This seemed like a good opportunity though, it was only for a day and it was free. Well, I had to make a down payment of $10 just to secure a spot on the list, but afterwards they gave the money back. Even if it was $10 to go on the trip, I would have wanted to go anyway because it would have been a nice break from school…

Every year, the University of Delaware’s Filipino Student Association hosts an annual big/little event known as the Ate/Kuya Ading program. Ate is Tagalog for big sister and kuya translates to big brother, while an ading is a little sibling. This program serves to promote fellowship in the FSA community and give new members mentor figures to guide them through the new school year with advice, hangouts, etc. Come hear from two of our brand new pairings, featuring UDFSA’s Event Coordinator, Herissa Monsalud, and Philanthropy Chair, Matthew Ebron!

A Senior Farewell
When people say that time flies, they really weren’t kidding. The time I spent at the University of Delaware has been a whirlwind of odd mishaps, life lessons, and poignant memories. What I’ve realized over the course of four years is that the community you surround yourself with will undoubtedly shape the person that you become. I know that this statement can seem like common sense, but I still found it very easy to underestimate its effects.

UD VSA’s Gather for Tet
In celebration of the Lunar New Year, the University of Delaware’s Vietnamese Student Association hosted a spectacular event called Gather for Tet. This culturally enticing event shared many traditions of Vietnamese culture, as well as other Asian groups. Celebrating the year of the tiger, UDVSA provided us with a full and fun itinerary.
