What My Mom Always Makes Me When I’m Sick: Made With Mother’s Love
As February comes to an end and winter starts to die down, so does my immune system. As a student that attends the University of Delaware but am from New York, my mother’s homemade meals aren’t always around for me. The thought of her homemade meals served hot and fresh from the stove never fails to make my mouth water. Getting sick isn’t the greatest feeling, but when I am in the comfort of my own home, it doesn’t hurt to have some delicious meals made by her. I’ll be showing some delicious meals she’d make for me when I’m sick!

With midterm season right around the corner, snacks are a great way to destress and munch on while you’re studying or doing work. While there aren’t that many asian markets within walking distance of campus, Newark and New Castle County have a wide selection within driving distance.

Recreating Food From Shows/Movies
Food plays such an iconic role in our lives, making the shows and movies we watch also include some iconic dishes. Here’s a few examples of recreated dishes from iconic films and links to their recipes!

Fried Rice: Growing Up With Me
The best fried rice recipe. When I was younger, I cooked this fried rice dish everyday after school. I started learning how to cook when I was in middle school because I thought I could cook better than the food I was eating at school for lunch from the school cafeteria. When we visited my relatives in Asia, I would show off, cooking my dish for my grandparents, relatives, and all their friends. If I need a quick bite or a fancy dinner to impress a special someone, this is my go to dish :)

At Filipino parties and holidays, you’re for sure going to find a few (or maybe even all) of the following dishes on the kitchen table. You may have heard of these dishes before or may even have variations of these dishes in other cultures as well. Here’s a list of a few of my favorite dishes that I look forward to indulging in at every family party, but especially during the holidays!

Food That Remind Me of Home
Food is really important to me in my household, and after being in college the past couple of years, it really made me realize how much I miss my family, but whenever I feel this way there are some foods that bring me back.

My “Least Favorite” Filipino Food
Growing up, I was lucky enough to have parents who raised me on authentic Filipino food. From eating tapsilog, bulalo, lumpia, pancit, giniling, and so much more, their cooking was the reason why I was so experimental with food when I was younger. It was always surprising to the adults around me when my brother and I would willingly eat vegetables, or if I would gladly take a bite of something that was notoriously suited for an adult palate. However, there was one food in particular that would make me draw the line: Chicken Tinola.
