My Ideal Meal at Head in the Clouds
While I was unable to attend this year’s Head in the Clouds music festival, I remember seeing posts and reels on Instagram of so many mouth-watering food vendors. After looking at the endless choices on their website, I decided to piece together my dream meal of the best featured vendors at this year’s spread. Some of these vendors have come to the East Coast at food festivals like Smorgasburg and various pop-ups, so don’t be discouraged by their presence on the West Coast!

Breaking the Pattern: Intergenerational Trauma
In many Asian cultures, mental health is swept under the rug. It is not an excuse to not be okay as it is seen as a sign of weakness. Those who are similar in age to my parents strongly believe this as they were taught to do so by their mothers and fathers. Unfortunately, this is a dilemma that many younger generations and first generation kids continue to experience.

Comfort Soup for the Fall – Sopas
With the cold fall weather, I tend to gravitate towards eating warm comfort foods, like soup! One of the first kinds of soup that may come to mind when you think of soup is chicken noodle soup. For me, I think of Sopas, which is the Filipino version of chicken noodle soup! It’s a creamy macaroni soup usually eaten for breakfast, if it’s cold, or if someone is sick, meaning it’s perfect for this time of year! In this article, I’ll be sharing my mom’s sopas recipe, which she’s been making for my family since I could remember.
